Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards 2023
Organised by the Department for International Trade, the Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards are a new initiative designed to recognise and celebrate the success of UK SMEs trading internationally from a wide range of sectors:
- To inspire and encourage UK businesses to pursue global opportunities. The ‘Made in the UK, Sold to the World’ campaign provides us with a platform to acknowledge and celebrate exporters from across the country and tell their stories, with the aim of instilling an exporting culture.
- Launching a new DIT-owned, UK-wide export awards programme that will recognise UK businesses seeing international success and uncover great stories.
The awards programme will:
- Help to increase the focus on exporting amongst businesses.
- Encourage more businesses to export by showing that everyday businesses of all sizes and industries are succeeding internationally and overcoming barriers
- Encourage ‘hand-raising’, resulting in compelling export success stories being shared by business and DIT.

Export Documentation Christmas and New Year Closures 2022/23
Export Documentation service will be closed over the following dates:
Closed from: Thursday 22nd December 2022 at 1:00pm
Re-open from: Tuesday 3rd January 2023 at 9.00am
Please note the following information:
- Any Arab or Egyptian Documents please call the Chamber first as we cannot guarantee the opening / working times of the Embassies.
- Thursday 22nd December 2022 we will be open until 11:00am for collection only of documents. Collections can be made from either office.
- Please arrange this with one of the export team.
- Express certificates only will be processed up until 1:00pm.
- Any Standard application entered on 22nd December will not be actioned until 2023.
* Please take postal delays in to account when sending and receiving documents via the Royal Mail.

The Food Accelerator is targeted at:

- People with ideas, start-ups and enterprises looking to launch, grow or scale their business through
innovation. - Businesses with a focus on new food and drink products or processes – especially plant-based food.
1st European Industrial Subcontracting Meeting in Santander (Spain)
14-15 December 2022
This event will gather European buyers looking for suppliers of pieces, components, or equipment they might subcontract for their activity, with the aim of putting European purchasing managers in contact with Cantabrian subcontracting companies dealing with several fields of activity.
The Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria would arrange for you a schedule of individual meetings with selected suppliers able to offer competitive solutions according to your subcontracting needs, as well as visits to Cantabrian firms you might be interested in.
Cantabria is a leading region in Spain, with an important number of companies specialised in industrial subcontracting, which belong to different sectors such as automotive, naval/maritime, aeronautic, oil & gas, nuclear, processing industries etc.
Suppliers also come from different fields such as casting, chip forming, metalwork, mechanism, heat and surface treatments, plastics, machine tools, moulds, casts and dies, electricity and electronics.
The topics in this meeting will include:
- The buying companies describe the product/activity of the suppliers they are interested in
- Identify the subcontracting companies able to meet the requirements and send the information to the buyers
- The buyers decide which suppliers they want to meet with
- Meetings will be held in the facilities of the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria on 14 December
- Visits to selected companies will take place on 15 December
