With the outbreak of the COVID-19 disrupting agricultural links to consumers, the Philippines sought to ensure food security by providing financial support to farmers, supporting tech startups and forging collaborations with the private sector. While these measures have helped, plenty of opportunities in terms of technological innovation, collaborations with local companies and international partners have the potential to strengthen the industry even further.
